Fashion

 Fashion
Many questions have been asked of why I love fashion and why I want to do a career in fashion.  Well I will answer these two questions.  The first answer that comes into mind is that to me fashion is an art which expresses the dreams of each individual designer.  Fashion allows the designers to express their emotions and ideas to the world, but not in the way governments create new laws instead fashion allows everyone to see the beauty of each designers dreams and also includes everyone in their beauteous world which inspires many people to be creative and start expressing their ideas but in a way which will appeal to the world.   This links to the second answer, fashion provides kids who are different to everyone to have courage in who they are and that it does not matter if you come across to others as ‘weird’ because they do not control your life.  They may bully you and call you names, however that doesn’t mean you stop being who you are, it should motivate you to show them your talents and that you are strong.  Many well-known celebrities were bullied because they were different meaning they possessed a unique talent that they the bullies were jealous and look at them now they are famous.   Fashion inspires the world, some people say that they do not care about fashion but they wear clothes which were designed in fashion, without fashion people would not have any clothes.  Yes in the third world not everyone possess clothes and if they do it is not in good condition.  The fashion industry know this so what they do is they hold charity events to help as many people in the third world especially young children and new-born’s.  This is another answer to the two questions which are frequently asked to me, as the fashion industry is a big part of society, holding a charity fashion event will appeal to a large population also famous celebrities.  Nobody said that charity events had to be outdoors and a messy event.  A charity event is an event which helps to raise awareness and money.

When I look back, what introduce fashion to me was the TV show named ‘Ugly Betty’.  Right I know some of you will laugh but it’s true.  The TV show gave a perspective of the fashion industry from someone who only seen fashion in magazines and did not know how much time and effort went into making these amazing magazines.  Interesting fact the fashion company name in the TV show is real and the whole plot of the TV show came from the background of the fashion company ‘Mode’.  Anyway it gave me an insight of the fashion industry.  It showed me that even if you have a certain important role in the fashion industry such as being editor in chief, its not a walk in the park, as no matter what your role is, there is always competition.  At first I never thought of having a career in fashion but recently I feel inspired and motivated to have a career in fashion.  I want to become a fashion designer and have my own fashion company, so that I can show everyone the beauty of fashion using my designs.  However, first I want to write for a fashion magazine to give me a more personal insight to the industry and then start working my way up.  To me fashion is my life, I will never give up till I achieve my dreams.

This post was about fashion, but I was also trying to show that you should never give up on something you are passionate about.  Do not let anyone control your life.  You choose the paths that you want to take, you may lose passion in the path you have chosen however there are many paths.  The key is not to give up.  If you are so passionate about a career you have dreamt of, then do something to show to everyone that you will keep running towards your dream until it comes true.   However, make sure you have a balance in your life or otherwise it will be difficult to achieve your dreams.  Never let it consume your life.  Yes I just said to never give up on your dreams, however I am not talking of just your career dream I am also talking about your dreams to find your soulmate and start a family no matter your sexual orientation.  Support from people who you love such as friends and family provides some help to achieve all your dreams but it is mostly down to you, just remember to have a balance in life.

I wish you all the best in your dreams and goals.
Never Give Up!!

Naz and Matt Foundation

Hey everyone,

Today a guy named Matthew Mahmood-Ogston came to my school to discuss and inform us about the foundation which he has created.  His foundation purpose is to help tackle homophobia triggered by religion to help parents accept their children or relative.  Matthew came up with this foundation when his fiance who he was in a relationship for 13 years.  He told us it was love at first sight when they met.  His fiance's name was Nazim Mahmood who was a Muslim and his family was very religious.  He explained to us on how much they were in love with each other which really touched my heart and most of my friends in school.  However on the 30th July 2014 just two days after Nazim told his family he was gay, he committed suicide.  For days and weeks Matthew was in pain.  He lost the one who was his soul mate and that completed his life.  Matthew started to think of committing suicide as he thought, 'what is a life without Nazim'.  However then he remembered what Nazim said to him and it was that if he was gone, to never forget him and that is when Matthew started this campaign.  At the start it was small but gradually grew.  He got the attention of the world when he announced that he was going to do a 150 miles walk from his and Nazim's home all the way to Birmingham where he was buried.  He thought he was going to do it alone, however along the way people started to join him in his campaign, which got the attention of the media.  It was estimated that about £11,000 was raised by people all over the world from the UK, Australia,USA, Canada, Europe and the United Arab Emirates.  He wants to help open people's eyes and see that anyone that is associated with LGBTQI (Lesbians, Gays, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer and Intersex) are all people, you cannot change who they are.  Religions need to see that there is nothing written in the holy texts which says that Homosexuality is a sin.  Naz and Matt Foundation mission is which is quoted on their website "Our mission is to never to let religion, any religion, come in the way of the unconditional love between parents and their children"
If you are someone who is having trouble with coming out to your family that you are gay no matter if you are religious or not, then I would highly suggest that you press the link below or talk to someone in your school.  There is help everywhere.  So I urge you if you need help with coming out or a chat about your sexuality then clink the link below or talk to school.
